Central Bedfordshire Council

Sector: public sector economic development and regeneration

Project: photography consultancy and comprehensive image library creation

Commission to provide consultancy to Central Bedfordshire Council on both the content and delivery of a portfolio of imagery. Unique images to illustrate the location, businesses and activities as part of the “Be Central Bedfordshire” initiative. The images have been used extensively in printed and web materials and at showcase promotional events such as MIPIM.

Working closely with the Economic Development and Regeneration team over 18 months, we reviewed their needs and produced a target plan of image creation that would support their business strategy and visual objectives to attract and support new and existing business in the region.

A model of requirement was developed (extract below) and then a plan of detailed actions and outcomes proposed to enable a cohesive understanding and targeted progress. The aim being to authentically showcase all key areas with unique photography.

We then undertook a programme of photography covering:

  • on-site key sector business visits within the area, including Center Parcs, Lockheed Martin and Whitbread Group to capture not only their activity but their working-together with Central Bedfordshire Council.

  • team meetings and outreach work with education and business sectors

  • seminars and team portraits

  • scoping and creation of a range of signature place-images across the whole county.
